About us

domusrehabita is a Lisbon-based office focused on the development and innovation of the built environment, architecture and urbanism. Founded in 2004, the office’s unique approach is shaped by the experiences of over 60 projects to date. Our projects range from small buildings to 1 000 hectares master plans.

We collaborate with a diverse client base: public sector parties, institutions as well as companies and private clients. Other strategic development projects include 27 urban regeneration strategies in Portugal (including urban rehabilitation strategy of Lisbon 2011-2024). At domusrehabita, the multidisciplinary team shares one vision – to produce high-quality and innovative solutions.

Partner/CEO

Catarina Antunes

With a degree in Architecture, she has 24 years of experience in architecture and urban planning, having collaborated also in the "Analysis of Financial, Fiscal and Parafiscal Instruments that can be used in relation to the scope of the Land Law" and in the preparation of the "Code of Real Estate Appraisals". She was part of the working group that created the "Lines of Reference for Advanced Urban Management for Municipal Land Policies, with Methodologies for the Achievement of a Fair Value of the Land, Real Estate and Urban Support Infrastructures", and also for the "Legal Regime of Urban Rehabilitation" in Portugal. It is part of the multidisciplinary teams that have drawn up various "Municipal Tax Regulations" for a several municipalities. She is the author of about 30 Urban Rehabilitation Strategies in Portugal and more recently she is part of the coordination team of the project "Almada Innovation District".

Carlos Lobo

Professor at the University of Lisbon Faculty of Law, Edit or various publications in the areas of Tax Law, Economic Law, Public Finance, Environmental Law and the Organisation of Territory and the Community, as well as various teams of government assessment projects.

He has a PhD, a M.D. and a Law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and was Secretary of State for Tax Affairs between 2008 and 2009, Assistant to the Minister of Finance's Office between 1995 and 1999, Adviser to the Minister of Finance's Office until 2001, and Deputy Rector of the University of Lisbon until 2012. Tax Partner at EY.

PROJECT MANAGERS

José Ferreira, senior civil engineer

José Ferreira graduated in 2005 from the Faculty of Engineering of the Lusófona University in Lisbon. He has more than 14 years of experience in the development and elaboration of projects for planning, preparation and management of construction works, having dedicated a large part of his professional activity to urban planning, being responsible for the management and implementation of the "Advanced Model of Application of Compensatory Mechanisms" in urbanistic plans. He joined the team in 2005.

Paulo Viegas, senior architect

Since 2003, when he graduated as architect in the Faculty of Architectre of the Lusíada University in Lisbon, he has regularly developed his activity as an architect in the field of Architecture, Planning and Urban Rehabilitation, monitoring the entire execution process, from the feasibility study to the implementation of projects. On the project side, it also develops three-dimensional visualization models, through the construction of virtual environments and images appealing and strongly characterized, enabling the end customer to early promotion of their investment. He joined the team in 2007.

Catarina Martins, junior architect

She's "our youngest". Catarina has a degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon since 2016 and has an integrated M.D. since 2018. She joined the team in 2019 and after doing her internship with us, she gained experience and is now our junior architect.
